Max’s has been a favorite of mine for years. The courses are always well maintained and no matter how many times I play it, I always find it challenging. Located just south of the Pheasant Lane Mall, Max’s is easily accessible to Nashua and Tyngsboro residents. There’s some added fun too – bunnies and goats! Although, I didn’t see the goats in their usual place today – hopefully they’ll be back.

As we went through each of the 18 holes, there was a lot of evidence that they’d given the course some TLC. New, blue carpeting in areas that obviously get a lot of wear – and as always, as free from tree and brush debris as possible. It’s obvious the owners and staff take pride in the course and put in the time and energy to care for it and ensure we all have a great place to play.

The one complaint I have about some of the holes at Max’s is that they seem to have a lip around the cup, making balls that look and feel like they’re going to sink right in roll around instead. It’s a bit frustrating, but doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the day.

Although there’s no stairs or other obvious impediments to handicapped accessibility, there’s also many holes where it would be nearly impossible for someone physically impaired to safely navigate to putt or retrieve their ball. Use caution and your best judgement.

While the ice cream here isn’t as good as a cone or cup you’d get at nearby ice cream stands, it’s still quite good. I went for my favorite – mint paddy yogurt. It was fun to watch Carolina’s youngest work the spoon around her dish of vanilla – I think more got on her/her car seat than in her mouth! Best of all, we got the mini-golf game in before the rain and thunder rolled in!

Overall, this is one of my favorites. Highly recommended. I hope to see you there!

  1. I agree about Max’s – not as awesome as Chuckster’s in Hooksett, but clean & good. (I can’t STAND it when a course like Mel’s in Litchfield has cups that are so broken and misfit that your ball can BOUNCE OFF THE CUP instead of going in! They should be forced out of business.)

But Max’s is SO much more expensive than Chuckster’s … we just don’t go there anymore. We’re in the middle of Nashua, 15 min from Max’s and 25 from Chuckster’s. No-brainer.

SOOOO, maybe ya add another star for price or value. 🙂 (Another great thing about Chuckster’s is the half price replays – nothing like that at Max or Mel!)

In any case, thanks for having this blog!

    1. I’ve heard that Mel’s has been updated, but I haven’t been there yet, so call it rumor for now! 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion about the value star. I’ll definitely give it some thought – I feel it’s a bit more subjective, but I get your point. And thank you for commenting and following. Tell your friends! 🙂
